Tekakwitha Games is a fundraising event for Camp Kateri Tekakwitha. At the outset, the project was limited to a main logo and website that worked cohesively with Camp Kateri Tekakwitha’s logo. Soon after the project commenced, it quickly became a completely immersive branding experience: it then involved creating five team logos and a badge to encompass all of the teams. In addition to the original scope, Tekakwitha Games became one of the largest and most detailed projects I’ve undertaken. It required extensive linguistic, philosophic, and historical research to ensure the visual representation, historic implications, name, and verbal sound of each team was consistent with itself, exclusive from the others, but consistent with the whole. The project truly challenged design as it moved from the visual to the vocal, and truly impacted the way I look at design.
